Each collection is thoughtfully designed, blending beauty with a unique theme or virtue. It’s crafted to bring joy and a sense of connection to anyone who wears it. Starting this journey has been incredibly rewarding, as it has allowed me to create jewellery that deeply reflects the values I am passionate about.

Why did you get started?
I started Lua Studio because I wanted to create jewellery with meaning and purpose—something beyond just beautifully crafted pieces. I believe jewellery has an incredible power to hold personal significance, reflecting a person’s values, experiences, and beliefs. I’ve always been drawn to designing pieces that embody this idea. Each collection is made with intention, focusing on themes that deeply connect with me. My hope is that when people wear them, they feel joy, inspiration, and a deeper connection to what truly matters in their lives.

Can you walk us through your career and how you ended up here?
Sure thing! After I finished my fashion course, I jumped right into the fashion design and production scene. It was such a cool experience to see how a design goes from an idea to the real deal. I worked closely with design teams and learned all about bringing a vision to life. But after a while, I felt a bit disconnected from that side of things, so I switched gears and focused more on retail and sales.

I got to work with some amazing fashion brands and eventually opened my own boutique, showcasing luxury labels from Australia and around the world. During that time, I really grew to appreciate design and craftsmanship, which sparked my passion for creating my own jewellery line that mixes beauty with meaning.

How did you learn your craft?
I learned my craft through a mix of formal education and a lot of hands-on experience in the fashion industry. After finishing my studies, I worked in different roles, from design and production to retail and sales. These experiences really helped me understand the full creative process and gave me a deep appreciation for design and craftsmanship. I’ve always kept learning as I go, and each experience has shaped the way I approach jewellery design today.

Can you tell us about your process?
This is my favourite part of creating because it’s a journey where I get to dive deep and learn so much along the way. By the time I finish a collection, I always feel like I’ve discovered something new about myself and the theme I’m exploring. The process usually starts with a quote or passage that I’ve read somewhere. I often find inspiration in words that touches my heart. When something moves me, I feel inspired to create around that theme. From there, I do some research, start sketching, and play with different shapes, textures, stones, and finishes. Each collection is about capturing the essence of its original inspiration.

Have you always been creative? How did you nurture this throughout your life?
As a child, I was always creating—drawing, crafting, and coming up with little projects. Over the years, I’ve nurtured it by staying curious, exploring new things, and finding inspiration in everyday beauty. Giving myself space to explore, make mistakes, and grow has kept that creative energy flowing, shaping both my work and how I connect with the world around me.

What is the best piece of advice you could offer for someone looking to start a
creative business?
Just dive in and really embrace the process! Having a clear purpose and offering something authentic. When you create with intention and heart, your work will resonate with others and make a positive impact.

What inspires you?
I draw a lot of my inspiration from the Baha’i Writings. As I’ve mentioned, I really enjoy poetry and philosophy, especially in the area of personal growth, with the intention of spreading and encouraging spiritual values that exude positivity.

Tell us about your creative business?
I’m an artist and painter!

Why did you get started?
I always dreamed of doing something funky for my career. I got my little creative heart crushed in my early teens and then fell into a “steady” job for my 20’s. I always created in my own time, and had a parallel interest in natural health and wellbeing. I started selling my artwork and exhibiting in 2019, but then found myself stuck and unable to move past the pressure and confusion of mixing creativity with business. I went back full time at my desk job, but eventually the stress and mental/emotional build-up became too much and I finally quit after 12 years. After a year and a half of time off (which I desperately needed for nervous system recalibration), I began creating again. I was sewing, playing with plant dyes, painting, and doing lots of pottery. I wanted to do everything at once. I was diagnosed this year with ADHD and it’s been such a relief in understanding why I felt so interested and invested in so many conflicting avenues all my life with no action towards one particular goal. I used to dream that one day it would all fall into place, and I would invent something that amalgamated all my interests into one. But eventually, the true relief came when I just decided to pursue painting as my only career path.

I promised myself that painting would be for work, and the rest of my creativity passions are just for fun, just for me. It was a major moment in my career evolution, and I’ve been able to separate myself more from the personal side of the art and feel more free to market my work and sell for appropriate prices. I let myself feel the intimacy of the creative experience when I’m in the zone, and after it’s done, I allow my business mind to take over and it creates a distance between it being so personal and it’s just felt so freeing! I have noticed a massive shift in my mindset and my business since I was able to make this decision and give myself clearer boundaries around what is creativity for work, and what is for joy.

Can you walk us through your career and how you ended up here?
In high school I studied art until year 10 where my angsty, hormonal, teenage self just could not fathom the explanation and documentation needed to ‘prove’ yourself in art class. To me art was a form of pure expression and the reason I created was because I had a longing to express myself, to find out about who I was, and to understand what I was feeling. However, the school system demanded that art must be created from a well thought out and detailed plan. My rebellious heart couldn’t stand it, so I quit art and moved to computer studies and that was that. After I left high school, I decided to give art as study another go and I enrolled in a cert 4 in visual art at tafe. I adored learning techniques and expressing myself, but when it came to assessment time I yet again struggled against the grain. I was stubborn (still am) in my belief that was a free form of expression which couldn’t be graded in the ways they told me were ‘right’. After that I started working a desk job for my Dad and then fell into a software development and business analysis role for 10 years in our other family business. I struggled with my physical and mental health, so I pursued a lot of learning in the natural health and wellness concepts during that time, but eventually fell back into art and started making more and selling them around 2018. I was offered a show at The Third Quarter Gallery in Brisbane and I took it! Around the same time, I was included in a group show at my local gallery The Gallery Peregian Beach. I loved this time in my life so much, and at the end of these shows I felt artistically paralysed. I felt like my hands just didn’t know how to paint anymore. It was such a sad and lonely feeling for me during that time when I lost connection to my creativity.

Later on, as I said before, I finally quit my job the day before my 30th birthday and started my adventure as an artist again, which brings me to now!

Have you always been creative? How did you nurture this throughout your life?
Absolutely! I argue that everyone is creative as a birthright, and there are many ways in which creativity can manifest. For me it was very typical in the way of music, art, design, fashion. I loved expressing myself and feeling connected to life through these mediums. I also found a deep connection to creativity through cooking, swimming, nature, and the sea. Creativity is a natural way of being for me.

How did you learn your craft?
Although I went to tafe for a year, I would consider myself mostly self-taught. I learn most things through exploration, of course calling on information sources when I need to! I learned early on to give myself permission to create ugliness in the name of exploration and it’s worked wonders for my technique.

Can you tell us about your process?
I’ve learnt over the countless moments of creation that I work in seasons. As a creative it’s essential to go and nurture that source of creativity and I do that by taking time away to reconnect to myself through being in nature and being around those I love. Connection to life inspires me to create and once I can feel the buzz of creativity swirling within me, then it’s time to start.

There are two ways in which I work, one is with no pre-determined concept going in, and the other is with a subject matter in mind. Either way I work quickly, mixing and shaping as I go, working textures, colours, and layers together until the harmony shines and the piece is complete. I love to work on bigger scale, I love colour, and I love the movement in the pieces.

What is the best piece of advice you could offer for someone looking to start a
creative business?

Make a decision!

I learned a lot this year about how routines and consistency is actually like medicine to my body and not the once constricting prison I once thought it was. Well, making a decision about what I was going to do for “Work” with my creative business gave me razor sharp focus and freed up so much mental space that now goes towards growing my business. It feels a lot more pleasurable now knowing what my boundaries are and it’s been a game changer! Get clear on exactly what it is you are doing, and then go into that with more freedom. Not only does it help free you up, but it also helps your audience engage with you further since you message becomes a lot clearer to connect to!

The other tip is, stop hiding! You’re allowed to shine and be loved for your expression. Find your people and go for it.

What inspires you?
Life inspires me. I am the queen of making the tiny mundane things and moments from day to day life shine and feel magical. I love flowers, colours, the ocean, the beach, time with friends, expression in so many ways like cooking and dyeing my hair!

Where can we see your work?
You can find my work on
Instagram @__ebonydew
Pinterest @EbonyDewArt
or direct to my website ebonydew.com.au

Thank you Ebony!! xx

Your colour palette will be the first impression of your brand. Colours can evoke emotions and reveal your brand’s unique personality. We will go through establishing the perfect colours to represent your business.

First, you must take a look at who your target audience is, what tone you would like to set and how you want people to feel when they see your visual branding. Once you have established these foundations for your brand identity. It is time to delve into colour psychology.

Understanding basic colour psychology will play a vital role in the colours you choose to represent your brand. Make sure you research colour meanings and how they trigger human reactions. For example, many food and beverage companies utilise the colour red. The colour theory behind red is that it increases our appetite, heart rate and even blood pressure, making us act faster, be more impulsive and potentially eat more.

It is also important to conduct competitor analysis, as you want to stand out from your competition, not blend in. Once you have laid out the foundations for your branding and researched colour psychology it is time to build your brand colour palette.

Once you have found the perfect primary colour, choose complimentary colours/shades or variations to play the role of your secondary colours for contrast. Making sure they all pair well together.

It would be best to test out your colour palette by mocking up some business cards or social media posts before making them your own. As you may find they don’t translate as well as you had hoped without seeing how you will intend to use them.

Having the right colours will help set your brand’s personality and evoke feelings about your brand from potential clients. Taking time to understand colour theory and what you want your brand to say will help immensely in choosing your colour palette. These colours will help maintain consistency and clarity in your visual identity, making your brand memorable and easy to identify.

Are you feeling stuck? Disconnected from your visual brand identity or just not truly aligned with your brand vision.

We’ve put together a list of reasons why your branding may no longer be serving your business. If any of these resonate with you, it may be time to work with a brand designer to bring new life into your branding.

You only have one version of your logo.
You are working with incomplete brand assets. Limiting your potential to scale your business. Your branding should consist of every file type for use on multiple platforms and you should have a brand guidelines document on how to implement your brand and use your brand suite consistently.

You’ve had a change in direction within your business.
Your business might have recently taken a turn in a new direction and your branding no longer reflects your values. Refreshing your brand will help clarify this pivot and attract the clients aligned with your new direction.

Your branding is outdated.
Your branding was created a long time ago. The market has changed drastically since then and you notice your brand looks dated. When you work with us, your branding is designed in a way to stand the test of time.

Your branding isn’t consistent.
Your logo suite is all over the place and is not being implemented in a consistent way that doesn’t make your brand memorable. You don’t know where to use certain logos and convey a clear brand message. Your photographic and image styling doesn’t match and you are using more than 2 fonts.

You’re simply getting lost.
Your branding doesn’t stand out and you feel you are getting lost in the crowd. In today’s market without strategic branding, you won’t gain the attention of your target audience and build your brand. Causing your business to suffer and not be as successful as it could be.

We want to make sure you feel connected and allow your brand to shine. One thing I would like you to ask yourself is if you currently own a business. Is your current visual branding serving you?

If the answer is no, it is time to rebrand.

With love,
Lauren. xx

Have you ever slept through your alarm, been rushed out the door and forced to face the day with a matter of moments? Have you noticed days like these usually have a snowball effect and it goes from bad to worse? It’s not a concidence these days tend to spiral downhill. Let me share with you my personal remedies to a crafting a morning filled with intention that will lead to a productive, creative day.

Every person is unique and each practise may resonate with you more than others. I’m going to list a few of my morning routine must-have’s. Each new day is different and you will need different practises depending on how you feel. I’m going to list a few practises that will help ease into your day feeling like the best version off yourself.

Depending on what you need for example, self reflection (journalling), uplift your mood (gratitudes), confidence (mantras), tense (yoga/stretching), energy (walk), destress (plan your day), stillness (meditation). These practises are one’s I’ve enstilled in my life because they optimise my energy and well-being, allowing me to get the most out of the day in a beautiful, creative and productive way.

A powerful practise I like to start most mornings with is gratitude journaling. This over time will shift your mindset drastically and make you realise the important things in life and fill your heart up with appreciation for them. Attracting more of these beautiful things in turn.

Hitting the mat for some yoga and meditation is a way to bring yourself back into my body and reconnect with my inner being. This will not only make you feel amazing but it allows you to move throughout my day with ease and handle situations in calmer manner.

Doing all these practises at once can seem daunting. By adding a new one every time you feel ready you will slowly start adding to your morning routine. Realising how good you feel and how much more you can get out of the day.

With love,
Lauren. xx

We interview Ellie Bunic, owner & founder of VAMS – Vain About My Skin. A platform providing brand awareness and affordable content creation for new and emerging beauty brands in Australia.
Your beauty brands success story starts here.

When did your passion for the beauty/skincare industry start?

I was always a girly girl, I was probably the only teen at my high school who wore sunscreen. My mum’s bestie [ who worked for Nutrimetics at the time] educated me on sun damage, cleansing and how to apply makeup. She spoiled me with makeup and skincare gifts and I caught the bug! I was always into skincare, but never thought I would be able to make a living or create my own brand. The good old fashion advice, always went ” study hard, go to uni and then get a regular job”. Little did I know years later, that I would be doing this and working for myself.

What was the moment that made you say “I should do this.” and start working for yourself?
It was around my birthday June 2021 – I met a wonderful brand owner on Instagram and she wanted to work with me. It felt incredible to create and be rewarded for the hours it took to create the content. Something just felt “right” and I felt this “need” I have to do this! I have to follow my passion. Prior to working for myself, I was part of an e-commerce brand and I know firsthand how expensive and often unaffordable content creation can be for start-ups and small businesses. I absolutely love working with women, supporting their dreams and helping them reach their goals faster.

What is a piece of advice you can offer for someone starting out?
I have so much to say on this topic – I would love to include some I wish someone told me once upon a time. Don’t be afraid of the “unknown” – don’t be afraid to ask questions and to put yourself out there. Ask the uncomfortable questions and get out of your comfort zone, you won’t always know what to do but you can always ask someone who might know. Sometimes, we think that we need to be so “professional” and “robotic” that we forget PEOPLE make GREAT companies! Comparison is the killer of joy – your Day 1 will never look like someone’s Day 100. We can’t skip stages in our business growth, you will learn at your own speed and everyone’s speed of growth is different.. and that’s okay. Stay consistent in whatever you do and take as many breaks as you need to rest. Outsource the tasks you’re not good at, like graphic design!

What’s next for VAMS and where do you plan on taking this platform you have created?
The next big project is the launch of VAMS Store in March 2023. VAMS is created by women for all women in the skincare and beauty industry. We want to shine the light on as many emerging businesses as we can. VAMS will become a platform of a thriving active community prioritizing self-care and supporting women owned products.

Why did you ultimately decide to work with Studio Remedy?
First of all, I cannot rave enough about Lauren! Her creative vision and magic touch on everything she creates literally sparkles in the best “remedy” way”. Studio Remedy’s website was gorgeous and I thought this is it! I love this! It’s a massive relief and the best feeling, knowing anything created by Studio Remedy will be on point! I trust Studio Remedy to present my business visually in the best possible light. All the designs are beautiful, elegant and my eyes feast! I also wanted to support another woman working for herself. I am truly amazed how Lauren, can so easily interpret my eclectic style, run with it and then deliver exactly what I need and instantly love.

To learn more about VAMS head over to the website we designed for VAMS: vainboutmyskin.com

VAMS Instagram & email linked below:

Ever felt like a total creative badass on top of the world only to wake up one day without the slightest motivation to power on your computer, check your emails and even look at what’s scheduled in your calendar for the day? Chances are you have burnt yourself out. Here are our remedies to prevent burnout and nourish your inner creative.

If you are in this place of creative fatigue now, don’t stress it won’t last forever. This is your body’s way of telling you to slow down. To take better care of yourself and take some time away from the screen, your projects and clients will all still be there for you when you get back.

Tried and true, here are my own personal remedies for my creative well-being. Firstly take it back to the basics. It sounds simple but when we are caught in a whirlpool of emails, content creation, client work and calls. The simple things can take a back seat without us even knowing.

Make sure you are drinking enough water daily. Nourish your body with nutritious foods. What you eat will directly effect your mood and energy levels. Fuel yourself with nutrient dense, delicious foods. This will make your body so happy! Make the time to get up and move your body. Go for a walk, a swim, stretch, jog, gym, anything. Your body was made to move and it feels so good when you do.

Disconnect to reconnect by this I mean I regularly and unapologetically unplug from the ‘matrix.’ By putting my phone on aeroplane mode and spending hours in nature I feel connected to the earth and at peace. I am not distracted, I am present and can feel any stress melt away as I am in nature, exactly where we are intended to be.

Going to new places and having new experiences is something I will always prioritize. This is your life, having a work / life balance is so important. These new experiences will fill your soul on such a deep level. The excitement of getting out of your comfort zone will always bring true magic into your life.

The most beneficial change you can make in your life is to make yourself a priority. Realise your health will effect your work on so many levels. Make sure you are your best self first, so you can be the best.

With Love, Lauren. xx
