The Studio Remedy Brand Mission

As a Studio, we are not only driven by a passion for design but a passion to see you succeed. To be a part of your creative journey and pave the way for the visual representation of your company.

We bring your thoughts to life, with deep meaning at the core. We love crafting beautiful, intentional designs that like the ocean, ripple across your entire brand experience.

As the market is ever evolving and adapting, it no longer serves a company just to look ‘pretty’. Your beautiful visuals need to be created based on a proven strategy. Proven techniques to connect with your dream audience and designed in a way to do so.

Our mission is to create beautiful, intentional designs. That are back with strategy, the roadmap to your success. We aim to make the daunting parts of starting a business seem simple. We’ll take time to understand your business goals and research your niche, building a strategy that delivers you results.

We delve deep beneath the surface of your brand to find your voice, your ‘why’ and ultimately, your dream clients. By working with us, we’ll reimagine and engineer a beautiful brand with a long-term strategy and a generous dose of soul—the remedy to your creative quandaries.

Q & A with Ellie From VAMS

We interview Ellie Bunic, owner & founder of VAMS – Vain About My Skin. A platform providing brand awareness and affordable content creation for new and emerging beauty brands in Australia.
Your beauty brands success story starts here.

When did your passion for the beauty/skincare industry start?

I was always a girly girl, I was probably the only teen at my high school who wore sunscreen. My mum’s bestie [ who worked for Nutrimetics at the time] educated me on sun damage, cleansing and how to apply makeup. She spoiled me with makeup and skincare gifts and I caught the bug! I was always into skincare, but never thought I would be able to make a living or create my own brand. The good old fashion advice, always went ” study hard, go to uni and then get a regular job”. Little did I know years later, that I would be doing this and working for myself.

What was the moment that made you say “I should do this.” and start working for yourself?
It was around my birthday June 2021 – I met a wonderful brand owner on Instagram and she wanted to work with me. It felt incredible to create and be rewarded for the hours it took to create the content. Something just felt “right” and I felt this “need” I have to do this! I have to follow my passion. Prior to working for myself, I was part of an e-commerce brand and I know firsthand how expensive and often unaffordable content creation can be for start-ups and small businesses. I absolutely love working with women, supporting their dreams and helping them reach their goals faster.

What is a piece of advice you can offer for someone starting out?
I have so much to say on this topic – I would love to include some I wish someone told me once upon a time. Don’t be afraid of the “unknown” – don’t be afraid to ask questions and to put yourself out there. Ask the uncomfortable questions and get out of your comfort zone, you won’t always know what to do but you can always ask someone who might know. Sometimes, we think that we need to be so “professional” and “robotic” that we forget PEOPLE make GREAT companies! Comparison is the killer of joy – your Day 1 will never look like someone’s Day 100. We can’t skip stages in our business growth, you will learn at your own speed and everyone’s speed of growth is different.. and that’s okay. Stay consistent in whatever you do and take as many breaks as you need to rest. Outsource the tasks you’re not good at, like graphic design!

What’s next for VAMS and where do you plan on taking this platform you have created?
The next big project is the launch of VAMS Store in March 2023. VAMS is created by women for all women in the skincare and beauty industry. We want to shine the light on as many emerging businesses as we can. VAMS will become a platform of a thriving active community prioritizing self-care and supporting women owned products.

Why did you ultimately decide to work with Studio Remedy?
First of all, I cannot rave enough about Lauren! Her creative vision and magic touch on everything she creates literally sparkles in the best “remedy” way”. Studio Remedy’s website was gorgeous and I thought this is it! I love this! It’s a massive relief and the best feeling, knowing anything created by Studio Remedy will be on point! I trust Studio Remedy to present my business visually in the best possible light. All the designs are beautiful, elegant and my eyes feast! I also wanted to support another woman working for herself. I am truly amazed how Lauren, can so easily interpret my eclectic style, run with it and then deliver exactly what I need and instantly love.

How minimalism inspires

Minimalism: a style or technique (as in music, literature, or design) that is characterized by extreme spareness and simplicity.

Without even knowing it, I have been living in a minimalist way my whole life. I don’t accumulate things, I don’t even own anything with significant sentimental value. Taking solace in the emptiness. I am also not attached to any items and everything could go tomorrow and I would be completely fine. If not, somewhat relieved to start fresh.

For me it is an appreciation of what you have and removal of any unnecessary items. Focusing on what it important to you. Without excess clutter makes my mind feels clear. My space looks inviting and I feel light. When you are truly free of the things that do not add value in your life, you welcome appreciation for the things that do and realise our material items hold no weight to our happiness. This could also mean the beginning of some deep inner work if you feel any resistance.

When I became interested in graphic design, I would go to the library and borrow all the books I could find about design, typography, colour psychology, brand design and more. I would also research designers and view their creative works extensively. During my time studying graphic design something became apparent to me. Things that are on trend in the moment will look outdated in 6 months’ time.

There are many different trends and they happen all the time. But with most trends they are often short-lived and forgotten in a short space of time. If you follow a trend from the basis of your design, you are guaranteed to have something that will not stand the test of time and if this is a brand, will need to be rebrand not to long after.

When I began to create projects and develop my design style I always knew no matter what I did that I could only use elements that were significant and contribute something to my work. The aim was to use details only vital to the designs.

Why does this work? Every design will be purposeful. It will be timeless and a good design will still be beautiful long after the project has been signed off on. It always leaves you to convey a clear message without confusing your audience with unwanted clutter. It will be easy to understand and most of all beautiful.

This is why I continue to live a minimalist life. Because I only hold on to the things I need and truly matter to me. Less is more. No one wants to overcomplicate their life.

Welcome to the studio!

Studio Remedy founded in 2019, Here is the story of how it all started. Firstly, I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Lauren the founder and owner of Studio Remedy. Starting my own design business had always been a dream of mine. Setting your own hours, travelling, designing without creative limitations and truly connecting with clients of my own.

I had worked for two design agencies prior and realised a conventional 9-5 would never satisfy me. The lifestyle is too limiting and I gain inspiration from nature, travelling and the ocean. All of which were not accessible from a fluorescent light cubicle. Needless to stay I needed to take the leap and start my business.

But where do I start? How do I pay the bills? How can I get the most out of my inner creative and produce the best designs I can for my newly found clients. I had the idea to purchase a van and become a digital nomad, van life style. Combining all the things I love and gaining inspiration from the road, all while starting to build my very own business. Yes, I definitely dove right into the deep end.

I had packed up my room in Melbourne, and hit the road with hopes of gaining inspiration and guidance on my new found path. During my travels throughout Australia, I had meet fellow business owners and gained immeasurable knowledge from people to be considered success stories. I went to an enormous amount of beaches, little towns, waterfalls, and islands.

Not to say I didn’t have the van life low-points.. Van breakdowns, flat tyres, poor Internet connections, to name a few. But my desire for freedom and breaking convention outweighed any possible temporary downfalls I would face.

During my time on the road, I managed to put together everything to launch a healthy freelance creative studio. I gained my first clients, I worked on my first projects, I studied and took short courses. My style began to develop, inspired by my ever changing surroundings. All my hard work paid off. I am living my dream life.

Currently writing this from a cafe on the south coast of Nsw. Because I am now free to travel as I please. Constantly nourishing my inner creative and in appreciation of where I started and how far I have come.

I hope this helps you to take the leap and do what you have always dreamed of but to scared to do. You will never regret following your dreams and never give up on making them a reality.

With love, Lauren. xx
